A warm welcome to all our visitorsHaughton Green Methodist Church aims to be a caring Christian presence in the community, offering a warm welcome to all who come to our services or other events. Our minister is the Rev. Margaret Crawshaw, who welcomes baptism and wedding enquiries. Our main Sunday service is at 10.30am and lasts for about an hour. After the first part of the service, any children leave for their own activities in the Church Hall. On the first Sunday of the month we gather after the morning service for refreshments in the Church Hall. Once a month (usually the second Sunday) there is a quieter evening service at 6pm. There are several mid-week groups which meet in the Church Hall. On Tuesdays at 2.30pm the Ladies Guild meets for worship and fellowship, often with a speaker. On the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm the Men's Forum meets for fellowship, again often with a speaker. On Wednesdays during term-time a group for pre-school children and their parents, 'Little Fishes', meets at 1.30pm for an hour of songs, music, rhymes and a Bible story. Every Thursday at 8pm the Methodist Guild (men and women) meets for worship and fellowship, often with a speaker. On the first Saturday of the month there is a Dance at 7.30pm. In addition, throughout the year there are coffee mornings, Fairs, quiz nights and other social and fund raising activities. You will be very welcome at any of these or our regular groups. Other groups using the Church Hall include Slimming World, a Flower Arranging Group, Tai Chi, Yoga and Sequence dancing. Haughton Green Methodist Church stands on Two Trees Lane, at the corner of Sunningdale Road. It was built in 1810 and is an attractive building of that period, with clear, rounded windows and a gallery. The Church Hall, which is across the road, on the other side of Two Trees Lane, is available for hire by other community groups or for private functions such as birthday parties.
